My name is Michael Flores, and I currently live in my hometown of Austin, Texas. My interest in photography began at a young age when I got a Kodak Disc camera as a gift. I took it everywhere, and used it as much as I could. At some point I stopped taking pictures but my interest resurfaced in high school when I took a Black & White photography class. I remember using a Pentax K1000 SLR, and learned how to develop both the film & pictures. But sadly it only lasted a year. Eventually, the desire to capture moments came back so I bought a Canon point & shoot camera as a birthday gilt to myself, and again I took it everywhere. Something I have learned is key to growing in photography. My passion for taking pictures was ignited thanks to a good friend & wedding photographer my wife (then girlfriend) I met when she invited me to her photowalk group.
I invested in a used a Nikon DSLR, and used it until I hit it’s limits. After much debate I made the jump to Fujifilm, and purchased the XT-1. I fell in love with it, and the Fuji colors. Currently I am shooting with the Fuji X-PRO2, and almost always have the XF 23mm 1.4 lens attached. My main passion is Street & Urban Landscape Photography but also love taking documentary , candid, and lifestyle photos. I hope to create images that will draw in the viewer, bring out some emotion, and hopefully have a unique style.
